Yoni starts on solid food

Yoni started on solid foods about a month ago. His very first meal was rice cereal and milk (breast if you must know). He thought the whole thing was a little strange, but he played along. After a day or two of just rice cereal, which he really wasn't so crazy about, we gave him some jarred baby food. One of his first meals is shown below. I think he's eating peas. As you'll see, he's not a big fan. As it turns out, he really likes fruit (mangoes are one of his favorite), but the veggies do not excite him too much, something I expect he inherited from his Eema. We've been able to ensure that he gets a balanced diet (although at this point the food is more for his entertainment (and ours) than for meeting his nutritional needs) by mixing in a little fresh banana with his veggies.

The movie below was taken just last weekend (Your "hey something is up-to-date" comment was not appreciated). Ronit is feeding Yoni his breakfast. In addition to Yoni looking SC (super-cute), you can also see that he actually really enjoys eating. In fact, when he's eating a meal he likes, if you don't get the food in quick enough he starts to cry and get upset, which unfortunately for Yoni, is also pretty cute. The little dude can get quite a temper when he does not get what he wants, with stomping feet and all. Oh yeah, make sure you have the volume up. I hate to use the word again, but the little sounds he makes when he's eating are _________. Yup, super-cute. See if you think I'm using the C word too much. I don't think so. Also, Yoni uses his feet to eat. I'm not sure what their function is, but he almost always uses them; and yeah, that's cute too.

Bbblllllllllll

I know, I know, it has been a million years! Happily Yoni ages very slowly and does not look a day over his 7 months. I have many, many, many pictures to post, none of which you'll see here. But I do have a very cute movie of Yoni and his Eema having a rather silly conversation. Enjoy and stay tuned; I hope to have some more goodies coming up this week.
